New to SF from the UK.

Welcome Sally I am also from UK but in Leeds, so far have not come accross anyone local but live in hope!Looking forward to seeing more of your work and as I mentioned on the site would love more details of your sampler

the sampler piece was many small pieces of stitched samples from my City and Guilds that I did in the early 1990s. I had so many ( and have many more now as I am a textiles teacher myself now) I wanted to group them all together as one piece for an exhibition of my work that I did in 2011. So I bravely stitched them all together and then just used a roller loaded with acrylic paint over the top. Once I had started there was no going back LOL. Try it on a small canvas - the textures, shapes and stitch show through the opaque paint but the colours of the original fabric are all covered over, so you get a piece of painted art work with texture.
