Welcome! I've been a member here for less than a year but have learned so much in a very short time! I hope you have as much fun as I have had. There is so much to do and see. Just familiarize yourself with the site and you'll be fine. It's actually very user friendly. Find some groups you like and join in! Be sure to post photos of your work. :)

Welcome to Stitchin Fingers. Well, this was a good start :)

I would suggest that you join groups that match your interests, that's very easy to do.
- Click on the 'Groups' button above.
- Click on the icon of a group you are interested in
(there are at least 2 pages of groups, at the bottom of the first page there is a button for any additional pages)
- On the groups home page, click on the 'Join this Group' button.

Join in the discussions, both in your groups and on the main forum. The more people join in, the more alive this network is, it is a place for sharing information and ideas. Never think that you don't have anything worth saying, we have members from all over the globe and not one of us knows everything yet. Those who are new to textiles or a particular technique especially like to receive 'basic' information.

On the home page for each group, you will find a list of the group members, click on their avatar to visit their home page. Leave a comment. Most active members will respond by visiting your home page and leaving a comment in return.

Sending a 'Friends' request is a good way of bookmarking the home page of someone you think you will want to visit again, and you can only send a private message to your 'Friends'.

Thank you for starting this thread, I am sure other new members will be keen to get some tips for more established members.

Like Carol-Anne and MichelleMermaid have said, wander around and join in when and where you would like to. If you need help, ask, and someone will have an answer for you, and someone else could well add more!
Other than that, put your other life on hold for a while so you have time to go back through all the discussions, as there is a wealth of information there, then follow up links to tutorials, blogs and websites!
