If you've been interested in starting a new group for any specific technique, I'm putting together a list. So far, I have machine embroidery and church embroidery as definites. There's also interest in a tatting group, though no definite decision on that yet.

Under the Community Guidelines (found under Site Help), you'll see that groups can be proposed by anyone. If there's enough interest and a willing moderator, just contact me and let me know!

It helps to have a photo that represents the group's technique and a name for the group already lined up, too.

Hi Mary, I wondered about a knitting group  - just knitting. I know there is a group for board and knitting in the round. When I first joined Stitchin Fingers ( only a few weeks ago) I posted a picture of a shetland lace shawl that I had just finished and although I am always sewing I usually have some knitting on the go as well. I am happy to moderate if necessary.

Welcome by the way ( That's a bit crazy as it is through you that I am here anyway!!)

Thanks, Maryann - we'll see if we can drum up interest in knitting and crochet...

It always makes me smile when people 'welcome' you to the site, Mary as you were one of the very first people to join when it was first set up!!!=)

I don't know if it's beyond the scope of the group, but what about yarncrafts?  Knitting?  Crochet?

In fact, this is a good point - it might work well to put both under an umbrella group...

Actually, there is a crochet group already: http://stitchinfingers.ning.com/group/hooked-on-yarn Thought so!

Yes, I half remember seeing one on crochet, but there isn't one for knitting, I think.  I'd join anyway.=)

I would love to see a tatting group for both needle and shuttle,   thought it had already been put forward but seems not so.

It's been put forward, Margaret, but we'll need a willing and interested moderator for the group, before it can be created - and a group name and icon (photo).

I'm planning to do a little more in- depth exploring into all the groups before actually setting up the new ones - hope to do that this weekend....

Oh dear I must remember to read all the way down the page before making comment. Sorry Mary. Disregard the previous message sent to you.

I am wondering if there would be interest in a sashiko stitching group?

Could we include Kogin Embroidery with this as well?
