I have recently came accross easy threading needles. These are having two holes instead of one. Are the needles meant for easy threading or do they have any other use. can somebody help me please.
I believe those are for stitching with two different threads together to give a blended look. Could be used for two different colors or textures. It may make it easier to keep the threads laying side by side.
I was just wondering if the thread was threaded through both holes would it hold smooth threads, so the needle wouldn't slide off the end of the thread so often. This would be handy when using expensive threads too, because you would need the bare minimum of thead through the needle and so be able to work much closer to the end of the thread.
My Mum had easy threading needles which actually had a slit in the eye so the thread could slide into the eye somehow.
I've never used those needles, only read about them. It never occurred to me that you might put a single thread through both holes. That might be effective for the slippery threads.
I've never used the ones with the slit either. But I've never been tempted to try because others have told me they didn't work well. Did your Mum like them?
ooh, if they are used for two kinds of threads for better blending like AnnieB sez, i'd better get some -- i think they'd be effective. on my way to the shop tomorrow! heehee, something to look forward to, besides having a new and inspiring president of our usa.
Actually what Judy says is correct. The hole or eye of the needle at the top has a slit in it. I was wondering what was that for? There are no instructions on the pack of the needles. I need to try out Judy's (putting single thread through both holes) as well as Annie's (using two different threads in different holes) suggestions. Thanks a lot. let us see if some more replies are received may be from some one who has used it?
