So I decided today to knit my Mum a new tea cozy for this Mother’s Day this coming Sunday. I ring Dad and tell him what I am going to do and ask him to measure the teapot . So he tells me the measurements as he measures it…. THEN I hear my Mum’s voice in the background!!…..
So I say: “Dad, is Mum home?”
Me: “Why are you measuring the pot in front of her?”
Dad” “It does not matter.”
Me: “I wanted to surprise her with it.”
Dad: “It’s only a tea cozy.”
Me: I shake my head and thank him for measuring it and hang up.
Now is this man a spoilsport or what!?!?!?!
Janet I would say he is a `typical man`
I was thinking that Margaret but I hear not all men are like that... you and I just have not meet them in person yet.
Janet, this made me laugh. He just wasn't that engaged in the process, I'm guessing!
Janet, this made me smile, so often my father would be oblivious and let the cat out of the bag more than once.
Oh dear........each teapot has the spout etc in different places Ive found so I make them to fit especially.(have pics of a couple here).
Have a good Mothers day...this year will be he first in 12 years Im not working !!!!!!!
Meg and Deb: some people can only handle one thought at a time. :)
Nicola I like you cozies. I know what you mean at getting them with the openings etc in the right place.
You could still surprise her by making a matching milk jug/sugar bowl cozy.
Barbara I made her those as part of her Christmas present. But I finished the cozy today so I still have time to make something quick. Maybe a bookmark.
