Although I love and appreciate hand stitching embroidery and needlework, I do most of my work on a sewing machine . My trusty Bernina is an extension of my body really and rarely gets put away !!

I love working free motion embroidery and quilting with a darning foot, use lots of dissolve fabrics and apply any kind of material down with machine stitch.

I am sure many  of us use both hand and machine stitch at various times to create beautiful and stunning needlework.

Would anyone be interested in a Machine Stitch group here on stitchin fingers?

Sharon B says we can start one if there is the interest from the members.

Anyone interested in joining me?

yes Sally, I woyuld be interested, very much a novice in machine embroidery but maybe a group would be a great help, your work you do is certainly inspiring.

I would be interested have tried free motion but I cannot quite get it right. May be a group will keep me focused. I love your work and would welcome the chance to learn how you do your pieces. Thank you Sally.

There are over 200 members who put machine embroidery down as a textile interest so hopefully others would like to join too. I am more than happy to pass on any tips and advice on machine work, so ask away girls.

I am interested too..

Before I became obsessed with hand stitching, I loved to experiment with my sewing machine; free-style.

I would like to see what others are into!  Good idea.

I think this is a good idea - to start the group up I need

a description of the group

an image I can use for the group icon

someone happy to be group leader and moderate -Moderation is not hard  as I will do any nasty stuff if you get hit by a spammer ie giving them the royal order of boot and booting them from the network - I just need people to help one another with questions etc.

Are people interested in this? As I say I need - a description of the group - so someone to write it - - an image I can use for the group icon  and someone happy to be group leader and moderate. Just message me

much as I am interested Sharon I do not feel I could take on the moderating or lead the group, not computer literate enough as you well know from when I pester you with questions!

No worries Margaret - usually the person who proposes the group becomes the moderator.

I'm interested. Has it been set up? :)

No the group has not yet been started up. I am waiting for someone to respond to my little list ie
to start the group up I need someone to write a description of the group
an image I can use for the group icon (ie a photo of machine embroidery that someone is happy to let me use as the icon )
someone happy to be group leader and moderate -Moderation is not hard - I just need people to help one another with questions etc.
I figure if there is not enough interest for someone or a couple of people to put their heads together and produce these few things and send them to me - there is not enough interest in the group.

As much as I'd like to assist I am totally a novice with machine embroidery that anything I have begun has never been completed and has definitely been binned. It is for this reason, that I'd dearly love a machine stitch group formed (and there are others too - see above). Perhaps we need to earburn those of us who are accomplished or dabble in the art to whet and stimulate those if us who are at the cusp of machine stitching embroidery and to renew their own adventures.

Come on people, don't be shy.  Please share your knowlege and be reawakened with your creativity.
