London's Olympic 2012 Post Card or Journal Page Challenge

Hello Everyone,

We have been chatting a bit on the Raised Stumpwork Group about having a challenge to create a Post Card ( 4 inches X 6 inches)  or Journal Page ( 8 inches X 8 inches) to commemorate the London Olympic 2012 Games.   Then I thought why not open it to all the Stitchin Fingers members who may enjoy stitching something to remember these fantastic games.

I am truly looking forward to seeing all the events and seeing all the wonderful sites and sound of London and all of the UK.   I am not good at sketching but I plan to do so during the games.  I was thinking that by October or November we could all display our wee pieces of art in this challenge. 

What do you all think??  I hope many embroidery artist will join in on the fun.   Thanks  Hugs Judy

Hello Sharon,  Thanks for your support. Much appreciated.  I hope many will jump in and join the fun.  I reckon it will be fantastic to see many fabric/wool stitchery PC and Journal Pages that would reflect the the Olympics 2012 Games.  Hugs Judy

I think it sounds like fun.  Does it have to be raised stumpwork, or will any type of embroidery be allowed?  I would love to try an Olympic piece.

Hello Everyone,  Glad to see more artist join in on the fun.   One can use any emboridery technique they would like to use.  I plan to use some raised embroidery on mine Journal Page.   I would like a showing of our London Olympics London 2012 creation to be shown the middle of November.   That should give everyone a good amount of time to create these pieces of art.  Thanks to everyone for joining in.  Hugs Judy
