Does anyone know why there are a lot less pictures that show up when one uses the search engine box in the all photos section? For example, when I used to type in "blackwork" two or three pages came up, now there are about 5 photos on one page. I really liked the other setup better.

People have probably not described their image or added tags to them. Search engines need text to search. If people just upload a picture and no description the search engine does not see it. I hope that makes sense to you.
But I'm sure that's not the case as I tag my images, and they have continuously appeared in the past when I would search for pictures with a particular tag. Plus, other people who have tagged their images, used to come up within the search and are not appearing either. This has occurred within the past two days or so where not all tags are being recognized.
Hi Karen - it might be the ning servers is it still happening?
Yes, it is, Sharon. I think it has something to do with only showing more recently tagged photos. I retagged a few of my older tagged pictures and then they appeared on the screen when I used that new (but same word) tag. I don't know why they would reprogram the site to only have more recent tags appear though.
I will poke around and see if I can find out anything
Tagging a photo is when you use words to describe your posted project picture. For example, if you upload a photo of a baby blanket that you cross stitched, you could tag it cross stitch, blanket, gift.
The purpose of tagging: When you click on the photos tab, you are able to see all the photos that have been posted to this site in order with most recent photos first. Notice that above the very first photo on the page is a search engine box (a white rectangle that you can type in). If you type blanket in the box and hit return, you will see all the photos that have been tagged blanket. Using the search engine allows you to narrow your search to particular kinds of pictures instead of having to wade through the entire site set to view what you are interested in.
