I've just joined and I love embroidery on handmade felt

Hello to everyone at Stitchin Fingers.  I've just joined and I'm amazed at all the talent out there!  I love making my own felt and then enhancing it with free machine and hand embroidery to make wall hanging art.  If you'd like to see my stuff please have a look at  my blog www.rosiepink.typepad.co.uk

Welcome Lyn. Love the things in your blog. I have some silk tops I bought a few years ago I must play with some time. I have done wool felting but not with silk yet.
Hello Janet - Silk tops are stunning on handmade felt.  If you've never tried it before, I suggest a making a small sample so that you can see how the silk reacts.  You need less silk than you think - spread it thin!  I've uploaded three photos of a fruit bowl that I made - it's felt made with a resist - and the pattern on the surface is made with silk tops.

Yes the silk is going to be great once I get to it. I just posted some photos of a felt wool bowl I made on the main page.
Lyn, your work is beautiful! I love the flower pictures and the vase covers... ok, and the ocean bowl! :) I've been wanting to play with felt, and you're inspiring!
