A friend sent me an email copy of a pattern of a tetrahedron to be done in embroidery or needlepoint. The design area on the paper is 5.5"X 2.75" are no instructions on how/when or should one cut the fabric/canvass, be it before or after embroidery. There are no specific or extra spacings on the design for cutting. My friend said it was put together with cording.

Should the embroidery be done as it appears on paper and just folded after it is finished? There is no mention as to the size of the finished piece. Can any one give me any suggetions? I've never done this before and would not even know to proceed. Thanks for any assistance.

Hi Tanvel,

I don't know if this will help with your project or not, but I found this tutorial on the web. It has great, detailed pictures: http://piecelove.net/quilting-sewing/tutorials/baby-tetrahedron-sew...

Hope it helps,

Cheryl

Dear Cheryl,

Sorry to say that the sewing tute you sent me does nor work for my project. It is a needlepoint one and does not have a zipper. I have a very easy tetrahedron pattern for ornaments or fabric weights, made of cotton fabrics, which is handled very differently than needlepoint canvass.

Thanks anyway.
