Hello! I am a needlework nut....A little abstract, a little whimsical, and a whole lot of simple and uncomplicated. I find beauty in worn out things and promise in something as simple as a snipet of string or a scribble on a scrap of paper. I collect fabric, thread wound and tangled on old wooden spools, buttons and pencils, books, fonts and pebbles.

Found objects are a fascination and color leaves me giddy. I write. My broken crayons are still my favorite thing to draw with, and I consider it a personal challenge to see how many different ways I can draw a smile.

I have been a cross stitch designer for 15 years, and I also love hand embroidery, quilting, slow cloth, designing fabric, crochet, and anything else that has me playing with string.

Looking forward to learning more, sharing and just having fun with all of you here at Stitchin Fingers!

Hello Carolyn. Doesn't sound nutty at all to me. Perfectly normal and delightful. I look forward to seeing some of your work. I am new to this site, and enjoy so much interaction and sharing of projects. Would you tell me please, what slow cloth is. I have not heard of this technique.

Hi Carolyn. Glad to meet you. You sound like you are just like me. I 've playing with Zentangles lately. I can't wait to see your work. You are going to find this sight fun and full of wonderful people. Just like Claire I do not know what slow cloth is. I hope you will tell us. It so interesting hearing new things. Happy stitching Hugs Elaine
