I read that some of you like to swap book pages.
We can write some guidelines in regards to size, theme, when and how to do it and how many pages we want to swap.
I would prefer to swap 10x10 inch (25x25 cm) pages.
What do you think about building a group of 8 to 10. Or do you think a monthly swap where new members can join would be better?
If you are interested, please reply to this discussion and tell your thoughts.

I'd be interested in this swap, but I think I'd prefer the pages to be a bit smaller......I've never participated in a page swap before and I've never made a fabric book, but I'm guessing both sides of each page would have to be done for the swap, or does one person do one side and their swap partner completes the other side ?
Also, do we have a topic each month or freedom of choice.
I think it would have to be monitored by someone as sometimes, despite the best intentions, people make a page but don't receive one, as happens with postcards.
I'd be very disappointed if I joined in, but didn't receive as much as I gave, so I think a closed group would be better.
Hi Teresa,
I am of your opinion that one person should do both sides of a page.
In the other book page swap we made the picture on the one side and wrote some notes or we had a nice fabric with a small pocket on the backside. So we could write some information about how we had done the page.
I we are a group I think it would be nice to have a theme.
Perhaps there will be more interested in a swap, I think we should wait two ore three weeks.

Permalink Reply by Helen van Zyl on January 11, 2012 at 15:47 Hallo Trillian, I would like to participate if we have a swap book. a 5x5 inch page could also be good especially if the members also participate in ATC's and Fabric postcards, time is limited for everyone. Otherwise the time frame could be lenghtened. Maybe 2 months on a 10x10 inch page.
What about using colours as a theme, that would give participants more scope for their themes in a particular colour and also more variety for the books once finished. I do agree with Theresa that it should be monitored, and that participants should agree not to drop out or not finish their pages. Helen

Permalink Reply by Annet on January 27, 2012 at 8:57 I never made a book page, but always enjoyed other peoples creations. With your guidelines how to do this, it must be possible for me to make one too. So yes, I’m interested. I think monthly swaps would be best, but a small group would be fine too. I’m not sure about the size, 10 x 10 inch seems large, but 5 x 5 is a bit small. Maybe a size in between? I like the 8 x 8 inch for CQ, so maybe that’s a good size for book pages too.
Hi Annet,
nice to meet you here.
I think I will write some guidelines in the next days and post them in this threat. Then we can look if we all agree.
Will be back soon
Trillian

Permalink Reply by Frances McLeary on January 27, 2012 at 15:59 hello Trillian, I am a new member but have a great interest in the idea of a book page swap so will look forward to your guidelines with excitement. I am happy to go along with whatever size seems to be most popular and a monthly swap with a theme sounds like a good place to start.
Hi,
here I am back ;-)
Welcome Frances. We are a group of 5 now. I think that is fine.
I wrote some guidelines. But they are too long for posting them here so I put them to google docs and you can download them here.
I like the idea of each participant having a theme for their book. That way you can do a different themes each month instead of doing the same theme over and over.
If you agree with these guidelines please write me or here until next week and send me your theme.
(When you reply quicker we can start quicker but I don't know if you are looking into stitchinfingers every day.)
I will take your reply as "registration". Then I will make a list of partners for the months. Each month you can ask your partner for her address and send her your page.
Please note: Everybody of us is responsible for sending the page at time. And everybody is responsible for the arriving of the page.
What about starting in February? Or do you like to start at the 15th of January and we will send our pages every 15th?
I am looking forward for your responses.
Permalink Reply by Frances McLeary on January 28, 2012 at 15:52 Hello Trillian, This sounds great and the size suggested is good also. Unfortunately I will be away for most of February (visiting family in New Zealand) but am very keen to be included and make a start. I would like to have as my theme the subject of HOME, which could be anything from the landscape to the detail. Do you think that is suitable? Looking forward to hearing from you.
Permalink Reply by vicki miller on January 28, 2012 at 22:43 Can I still join trillian? If so, my theme would be leaves/foliage.
feb 15 is fine with me
Hi Frances,
you choose a nice subject.
