Isnt there about 450 people doing the TAST project at the last count?? We're only a tiny group in comparison, so yes I think using this is a good idea, I didt realise initially that there werent many people doing the BJP.  Do we have a list of criteria (is that the right word?, I mean exactly what we're supposed to be doing for the BJP), I do seem to remember someone posting something about it ..................................

For the actual projects you pretty much choose what you want to do.  It can be mixed mediums or all beads as long as there are beads involved.  You use the same shape and size on your project for each month.

As far as what to do on the official blog, I simply followed the link they sent via email and then posted a brief intro onto the blog from my Blogger Dashboard.  A good rule of thumb is to see what the experienced participants do and do the same...follow the herd.  Each month you either post your project on the blog or on Flikr.  If you have your own blog you can post it there if you like.

There are no bad ideas nor are there dumb questions.

Im happy to use this discussion, it was just an idea.  Not a very good one addmittedly.

Tahlia, all my wedges will be different. Different beads, colour schemes, techniques etc. This will be a great way to learn new beading techniques on a small item.

I have not tried bead weaving yet so that is one to add to my "to do" list, and give it a go on one of my wedges. Some will have backing fabric, some will be just beads & wire/thread.

Does anyone know where a (free) source of beading lessons can be found on the web?

SharonB has the lessons included for the TAST challenge. but I haven't found a decent set of beading lessons or instructions yet.

Cy, I think your stained-glass-window idea is fabulous! ... do you think you will be bead-weaving your bead wedges or  attaching them to a backing fabric? do you think you will be working with all one size and type of bead (delicas, maybe?) or intermixing sizes and types for textural variety?

I should probably have put a smiley face at the end of my comments.  dont worry Connie, Im not easily upset!!!!

Me either :-)

Cy, Beading Daily is a pretty good source for help.

Fire Mountain Gems also offers instruction.  Plus check out their Gallery if you want inspired and if you order from them they send out the most gorgeous 'big' catalog!

Another great source is YouTube.  Just Google the stitch or weave you are interested in and lots will come up.  I don't have just a 'go-to' source like Sharon's stitching site.  I hope these help!

To all my beading friends here, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and best of the season to all of you.

And a wonderful beading New Year together!

Hugs

Janie

Thanks Janie.  I would like you wish you all a very Merry Christmas as well!

Ditto! May your lives be filled with Love and Happiness and Creativity!

hope everyone had a nice Christmas

My mom's basement flooded on Christmas eve, so it could have been a tad better.  She is 87 and lives alone, so this has just worn her out.  She will have a new basement in a few days though and I'm sure that will help.
