Is anyone in the bead group taking part in the bead journal project for 2012?

I have not heard about this - do you have more information?

Gina

Gina, I have a link on the sidebar of my blog.  I don't know a lot about it as I've not done it before.  Basically, you bead something each month using the same shape and size beginning in January 2012 and ending in December.  It is much like the crazy quilt journal project (CQJP).  In the past some did a beaded button each month, some did solid beads in different colors and patterns, etc.  It doesn't have to be totally beaded as other materials can be a part of it.

Bead Journal Project can be officially joined until Dec 10:

I am already participating in the CQJP and TAST, so I probably don't have room for the BJP this year.

Me too Tahlia, I am signed up for both of those... keeping up with them will be a big enough challenge I think! :)

I too would like more info since we have short time before 2012 and see if we are doing this challengs..thank you and Merry Christmas..hugs, Lorraine

Lorraine, I included the link to the BJP website in my previous comment. ;)

I've registered, but not heard anything back yet....

Sorry, I would have added the link but I didn't think we were supposed to promote other sites.  I'm pretty new at all this community involvment.  The link is included on Tahlia's comment above.  Thanks Tahlia.

I am also doing the CQJP 2012 and TAST projects, but this bead project sounded fun too.  It doesn't have to be anything big.  A couple of participants in the past did a button each month trying out different color combos and designs.  I know someone else that is doing a 2" square piece.  The way I understand it you could incorporate this challenge into the CQ blocks by doing different bead techniques.  It is meant to be a learning tool.  I had thought about doing beaded beads since I have wanted to try those, but I settled on something different.  I had not heard of it before and since this is a bead group I thought I would throw it out there.

Kalona, I hadn't heard anything back from them either so I commented on their blog.  Carol got back to me right away and said they will do the list of entrants all at once after the registration is over (the 10th I believe) to avoid repetition.  At that time they will also open a new blog for 2012 and send us an invitation to post.  We need to confirm we will be participating.

Thanks Connie,

My only concern is not knowing whether Tracey actually received my mail so I would be included...

I'd hate to get to the 11th and find my registration went astray.

I'm fairly new here, do you do smaller versions too?  I work inchies in a variety of materials, it might be nice to be able to join them all in a mosaic if I get a chance to work some as projects.

Kal.

Hi Connie just wanted to let you know that genuine conversation and sharing information is fine. But if it turns in to obvious marketing and advertising it's not. This is a real conversation in my book so sharing the link is OK. I guess the test is if you were trying to direct people to site where they purchased something (like an etsy site or online store that you owned then I would dropping you a tactful message- well as tactful as my mood allowed) But this si a community project so its more than fine to share the link.

I hope I have explained the difference.

Thanks Sharon, that does help explain it.  I appreciate your clearing that up for me.
