Hi all I thought I would start this group and see if people were interested in joining. If you are here leave a message to introduce your self. Tell us what your fiber interests are too
I will also test the image function and leave some eye candy

Hi all, I am Bernadette, or Bette. I tend to dabble in all things textile, but particularly love my embroidery. I am currently doing Art for the Stitch at the Embroiderers Guild of Victoria, with the long term aim of doing "the Box Hill Course", also known at Studio Stitch.

Hello everyone -- how wonderful of Sharon to get this site going. It will be fantastic, and a good place, as she has mentioned, for people to congregate for challenges and ....alongs.
Right now I'm mostly knitting as that seems to be what I can fit in time-wise, but I have an entire closet full of quilting fabrics, UFOs and things (embroidery, drawn thread and beading) to keep me busy for many years to come. I also enjoy finding out about national ornaments and symbols in other cultures' textiles.
I need to spend some time poking around here to figure out how everything works, and then at least get some photos up of my favorite textiles I've collected. One priority is to learn how to add photos here properly -- I tried, and all went well, except they were HUGE, so I need to find out how to downsize things for this site.
But I'm looking forward to learning from everyone, too!
Hi all,
My name is Vera and I'm a German. I live in Switzerland since 3 years.
I love to stitch Hardanger, I design Hardanger-charts for magazines and my homepage.
And I use this technic for textil art. I create and stitch pictures and had 2 exhibitions last year here in Switzerland.
I teach Hardanger since 30 years. On my homepage www.hardanger-stoll.com you will find a lot informations and tips about Hardangerembroidery. And if you have a question feel free to ask me.
What's to say about me? I'm 59 years old and I have three kids and 4 grandchildren and my husband has 1 son and 5 grandchildren, so we are a big patchwork-family. We married 3 years ago, when I moved to Switzerland. You are never to old to fall in love.
Hi Everyone, I'm Paulene from London, England.
As the daughter and grandaughter of dressmakers I've always stitched. I studied printed textile design then worked in the furnishing fabric industry but gave up full time work when I had kids. When they were small I did lots of art classes then City & Guilds Creative Embroidery. I've never settled on a single technique but mainly enjoy free machine embroidery and feltmaking with some hand stitch.
At the moment I'm 3 years into a 5 year part-time Fine Art BA and I'm trying to sneak stitch in where I can but mostly I'm printmaking (mainly etching) sometimes onto fabric so I can stitch into it.
I'm looking forward to experimenting in Dale's embellisher class over the long summer break.
Oh dear , ! Where do I begin ? I'm a flibbertygibbet as far as crafts are concerned or as my daughter says - a flutterby . I love all crafts . I would have loved to be a painter or drawrer (? spelling) but as I can't I ply the needle in every way I can) I have a sewing machine but use it rarely.
My name is Janet - known as Jan and I hit the big 50 this year. I have a problem eye ( I woke up April last year blind in one eye - uveitis apparently , no known cause but several theories. I have good days and bad days with flare ups - on loads of tablets with loads of side effects and despite consultants input no real hope of true cure so I live with it. At the moment I'm working on two big pieces - Mary Busby's sampler in pearsall's silks and a middle ages Egyptian (Mamaluk) sampler.plus too many other small projects to list including an patchwork etui and a crazy quilt bag.
My patient family consists of DH, 20 year old son , 8 year old (diva) daughter , 2 year old black labrador Jasper (jazz to his friends}. I work full time in a job I love and wish I'd found years ago
I live in Wiltshire UK

I live in Scotland, UK. I love all sorts of fibre art and have experimented with a number of techniques. I don't have a favourite as I love them all. I have my City & Guilds Parts 1 and 2 in Patchwork & Quilting together with Creative Computing Parts 1 and 2. I love taking classes and also teach locally. I am currently studying to become a quilt judge with the Quilters Guild of the British Isles. I am in my second year. I have not long returned from a wonderful trip to the USA - travelling from Chicago to Kentucky with a few stops along the way. The quilt shows in Chicago and Paducah were fabulous.
Hi, I'm Jennifer! I am a beginner in embroidery and very excited to learn more stitches. I just uploaded a photo of a butterfly that I painted and then added a border of chain stitch & french knots.
Hope you like it! Jennifer
