Hello

I am very happy to join you and I recognize some names.
I am virginie, french needlework addict. I love every form of needlework, but days have only 24h and I have to make choices. After a long period of counted stitch, I discovered, thanks to a class in Lesage school (french famous embroiderer for Haute-couture) "La broderie de Lunéville" which we can translate approximatively in beading tambour embroidery. I took classes druing all this year with an other teacher and I can't stop loving this technique.
I enjoy too goldwork, stumpwork, crazy quilt (I took sharon class which made me discover CQ), counted thread, hardanger, surface embroidery.
I plan to learn Hedebo, Limerick lace, carrickmacross lace, Reticello, crewel embroidery.....
I am a huge reader, particulary embroidery 's book of course.

Oh, I forget to say that I live in Paris area and happily married to an italian boy, mother of Benjamin (17) and Mélisande (12) and I am now a nurse since 3 years after 15 year of journalism in politics.

Sorry it took too long, but I am an incorrigible chatter in french, in english and... italian

Hello everyone! My name is Michele and I live just north of Charlotte, NC. I am taking one of Sharon's online courses (Studio Journal) and found this site that way. I was first a cross stitcher and then a quilter. That has now progressed into a love of all kinds of fiber art. I am a SAHM of a 3 1/2 yr old little girl, so my studio time is limited. I'm excited to share with so many like minds in one place.

OF COURSE!!!!! I was always with my 3 babies, now having babies of their own, and staying at home. God is good in my heart, it would grieve me to know they may miss the joy of little ones in their face 24/7.

I stay at home with my 2 greyhounds and retired physician-husband; they help me sew, bead, whatever! xo

Hello everyone. I am a newbie to stitchin fingers. And a newbie to Dotee Dolls. I have always wanted to make dolls but have never done so. 3 years ago I started quilting and love this area and have done many other artistic endeavors and when I saw this web site I knew I had found what I had been looking for for a long time. So that is where I am starting. I am eager to make friends all over the world and do swaps and all. I am disabled and spend most of the day in front of this computer. I look forward to meet all of you. I am 61 live with my roomie, Helen and our fur babies 2 dogs (a border Collie..Dusty and a Skipperkey..Widget); 1 cat..Remi (1 yr domestic kitten) 5 fid babies (bird kids: 3 Macaws (Harlequin--Tiger. about 22 yrs old--Blue/Gold...Bleu.3 years...Hahns--Sammy 7 years) a Timeh Gray (Packi. about 15 years) and Mr. D (cockatiel--5 years). Hello Everyone! My name is Kathie and I've just joined up to this wonderful place. I'm feeling a little in awe at the talent that is around but am hoping that I will be inspired to do some of the different crafts I've been wanting to try for ages....and eat into the stash on some crafts that I've been neglecting!!
I've just returned from 6 years in the UK an am living back in Melbourne. It's a big change but it helps to know there are so many people over here with the same interests!

Hello! I'm new here. I was just blown away when I found this place. I spent a month looking at the photos and reading blogs. What a great place!
I have been sewing since I could hold a needle. I was about 5 when I made my first doll dress sitting on a little red stool beside my Grandma. It was made of dark pink cotton material she had given me. I never stopped. Made clothes for myself and then my 2 daughters. Then I discovered quilting. I sew anything and crochet. I want to try my hand at an art quilt one of these days.

I'm Carol. I'm in NW Ohio (about one hour from the Michigan and Indiana lines), and cross stitch is my thing (although I do needlepoint when I travel as it is easier for these old eyes to see the holes in the canvas!). I have also done crewel, blackwork, knitting, piecework (but never quilted) and the odd bathroom curtain.

I'm an oldie (but I hope a goodie) with one husband, no kids and three pure-bred Bombay cats. We retired here after ten years overseas (London, Beijing and Saudi Arabia)... Before that I worked as an environmental tech editor for 12, 5 years (in San Francisco) and a community college instructor (Houston)...

I have a PhD in zoology (U of Florida) and before that a MS in Biological Science (U of So Calif) an a BS in Biolical Science (Bowling Green State U)....

My other hobbies are papercrafting (emphasis on rubber stamping) and reading (mystery, science fiction, and biography/history, usually when traveling).

Hi everyone. I am so pleased to meet you all.

To introduce myself – I am Iris and I live in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia.
It took a while for me to decide to join you – totally new to this internet community forum. I will try to find my way around without making too many mistakes.

I am passionate about all things textile, but especially antique Japanese silks and Japanese embroidery and have been collecting kimono and obi fabrics on a small scale for some time.

I have been involved with creative pursuits for as long as I can remember – mostly drawing and oil painting originally and just love to play with colour.
I learnt to sew from my mother at a very young age and then in my late teens started to make wedding gowns for friends, which continued for about 15 years.

Met my husband and ended up designing and constructing custom furniture from recycled Australian timbers.

I live a very full life on 6 acres growing all my own fruit and vegetables and work with my husband on all of the never ending renovations to our historic home. - all in my spare time when I am not working at my real job.

I love the way one creative pursuit leads to another and just enriches the next experience.

At present I am totally immersed in Japanese embroidery which has become my sanity time. Even though I can only make time for it in the evenings or after getting home late at night from work, it has become a part of me that needs to be fed.
I have also been playing with new ideas of using my beautiful collection of fabrics in some form of crazy quilt or something – definitely just on the drawing board! – ideas rich, but time poor – so am looking forward to seeing some of the projects all you talented people are doing.

Thankyou for inviting me to join your community – I am sure it is going to be fun.

Ann Louise Fetters, here.....live in sunny, hot Augusta Ga, USA.

Currently making crazy quilt style beaded purses/totes. The closest CQ group is 6 hrs away!
I am a classically trained organist/pianist, ministering in a huge Baptist church: a what's happenin' in your face rockin' Baptist church! Having 3 grown children, 4 Gbabies, a physician hubby, and 2 retired greyhounds, I sew about 6-8 hrs a day, when not practicing. It is only reasonable to be outside this time of year at 6am, which is where I am headed for our daily 2 mi walk. Nadya Grace and Molly Jean Pancakes KNOW when it is time, giving me no peace until I put on my sneakers, and head out the door.
