I am interested in purchasing an embellishing machine.
Is babylock the best? why?
What about Janome or Husqvarna viking machines?
What are the things I should pay attention to?
how many needles should it have? Are 5 needles enough?
Did anyone heard about the machine of happylock?

Many questions I know :-]
I will be happy to read your reviews (or critic) about your machine.
Thanks

I have a Janome and now that it has a head with replaceable needles, everything is great. I haven't used any other machines so I don't have any comparisons. I think 5 needles work fine though.

thank you
Replaceable needles means you can replace each needle and not the whole head everytime a needle breaks?

That's right. When I first got the machine it only came with heads that had to be replaced if you broke only one needle. However, that said, I'm still using heads with 3 or 4 needles. You just need to snip off the broken ones towards the top so they won't interfere with function of the machine.

hi ayala, yippee, i'm excited for you! as you know, i just got a new babylock embellisher with 7 needles. i did not try any others, but the price was very affordable because babylock recently released the 12 needle version. this might be useful when you go shopping.

I have a Huskystar ER10. I've done a needlefeltingcourse (via Internet) with it and made several nice things before and after that. It has 5 needles and in the beginning I had to change them a lot because I broke them again and again. But that was my own fault. The needles go up and down once again after I stopped the machine with your foot. I forgot that then. So, now I am very happy with my Huskystar. I hope you can have lots of pleasure with yours, watever you buy!

Who did you take the needle felting internet course through? I have had my machine for a year and I would like to learn more about what it could do.

Thanks,

Pat

Dale Rollerson from the Thread Studio in Perth has run this a couple of times now, and I believe will be doing another in the New Year. Check out her website the Thread Studio for details.

As a tutor I would say go for one made by a reputable company. Buy what you can afford and run with it. You won't be disappointed with Babylock, Janome Pfaff or Husqvarna. Learn to use it as an extension of your current materials. Other skills will come later. Enjoy! They are very seductive!

Thank you all
Today is my birthday so I thought:
I want Janome Xpression
I deserve the Janome Xpression (and couldn't buy the babylock)
Plus the seller is very relayable and that is also important.
I should receive it tomorrow.
I will certainly take the time to learn the machine and how to use it. and be visiting the machine needle felting group of stitchinfingers
Thank you all for your help.
A new fase begin.
Happy new year (september 29 - hebrew new year)

I have the Babylock EMB12...the new 12 needle machine. It is definitely the way to go...awesome machine. It finishes the process so much faster, and the features on the machine are so good. I think you will love it. Make sure that you are using the right needles and base for the project. If you want to do voiles, you need a 40 needle and duck cloth as a base...go to www.tryourdesings.com
There is a wealth of information and supplies on the site.
