Anyone be interested in a group for those doing formal studies in textiles, such as City & Guilds programmes or other things?

Hi Elizabeth -

This sounds like it might be very interesting? What do you have in mind?

I think this is a good idea. Would it include on-line classes like Sharon B's 'Sumptuous Surfaces' offered through Joggles?

sounds interesting to me, I just started an undergraduate unit in textiles
I was thinking of something for anyone doing formal studies, which generally means that it leads to a qualification of some sort, although any regular class could fit in (in person or distance learning).

The idea really was to provide a forum for mutual support, encouragement and also for anyone interested in doing these things later on.
Sounds like a good idea. I'm currently in the Fashion Design program at my local university, majoring in textiles. I'd love to take City & Guilds sometime.
I would enjoy such a course, but nothing like that is available anywhere near where I live.
I think many people find themselves in the same boat, so some of the on-line and distance learning programmes prove very popular.=) There aren't many decent 'in the flesh' classes going these days, which is a real shame! At our first class last week, 2 of the ladies in my group were telling how they'd signed up for several more local to them, but that they'd all been cancelled.
