Sharon is going HUMPH! because wordpress wont behave like blogger .... and I am titchy because I put my back out ... and that means standing at the computer to write .. no I am not really tichy but I am wishing Wordpress would behave as you would think that the administrator of all people would have a badge on her blog!

Sharon, sure hope your back eases up on you.

I use wordpress and cannot get the badge on my blog. It appears only as a link with text. I think you can submit the html to the wordpress help/support people and they can create something that will fit...I remember reading something like that in the help section for 'feed' badges...perhaps they would create one that would 'fit' on all their wordpress.com blogs.

That's what I just did. The answer from the support team came immediately back:

"Hi,
The badges include embed tags, which are not permitted on WordPress blogs due to security purposes."

I don't know what else can be done. Any idea?

Well, that explains why everything before the last line of the html disappears then. (that whole 'embed' part) If you copy/paste, all you'll get is the text link instead of the badge. Boo. alicia in Hawaii

Mine worked fine on my blogspot.

I got the badge to work on my blog, but I had to change the template to get it to work. I got a template that had a bigger sidebar to it so that it would fit.. Parts of the badge would get cut off on the other template I was using.I use blogspot so if any of you using blogspot are having troubles just change your template.

I would love to add the badge, unfortunately it is too wide and the colors don't match my blog :-(

I added the small badge to my blog http://gatherings100.blogspot.com/ with no problem. You get the code and copy/paste it in your html sidebar options. I don't know much about all that stuff, but it worked for me.

Oh dear, I'm not good with all this technology - self taught and often struggling!
So I just made my own badge using Publisher programme. It won't click link to this site but it's better than nothing.
One bit of progress today though - I've managed to customize my page here - I'll keep trying with the badge.

I just wrote this to Judy on another forum but thought it might also help here,
This is for the blogspot users who can get into their source code.

If the badge is too wide for some of the smaller side panels you could try fiddling with the sizes in the html code.
Go into edit and where ever you have put the source code for the badge

remove the height (which is height="104" on the large badge and "64" for the small badge)
change the width (which is width="206") to width="180"

you may have to fiddle with the width until you find one that suits your blog but start with 180 and see if it is OK
by removing the height it will adjust automatically to which ever width you put in

can't do anything about colour, I think it comes with the green colour scheme that Sharon has chosen for this network as I've noticed my other Ning badges suit the colours on the other networks I belong to.
hope that works for you

Hi, I tried this for my blog at wordpress.com and so far it doesn't work. What happens is: after saving it and looking at the site, only a text link shows up. No green box, nada. When I go back to view the html after the save, only the final line of the html shows up as saved and it produces only this text link.

"Visit stitchin fingers"

everything Before it disappears. It's not embedding the 'stuff' before it. Any fix for that? alicia in Hawaii
