Since there are groups for freeform crochet and freeform knitting, is there a style of freeform needlepoint? if there is, I might be interested, as I am always interested in new forms of arts.
I would love to have a needlepoint group. I think it should be seperate, there are enough differences and special details that it needs and deserves a group specifically for it.
Carol, I did a few pictures years ago for my bedroom and that was all. I have not done any more. I did love doing this type of needlework but would only be interested in doing it again if I can make something unique. I am not into just doing something pretty and lying it aside and let it collect dust.I don't need another picture. I want something different to either make to accent my home that I can use now or sell and make something others would want to buy. In today's world of having to make extra income. .I know you can understand this. I am sure there are others who feel the same. .as gone are the days when we just made pretty items to do and show our friends.
To answer Janet's question, yes, there is freeform needlepoint done on canvas. There are several good books on the subject, and many of the Beaney and Littlejohn techniques are adaptable to canvas as well. I'm going to go ahead and open the group today. We can decide from there what we would like to do as a group.
well, this is looking good. I will be reading up on this for a few evenings.. . butit is always fun to explore something new and beautiful.
I can't wait to start something, even if it is something small and easy. . .thanks everyone for bringing something, I would have never thought about, to this site. . .
