Hi everyone, feel like I've been missing for a while, too much going on.  Never mind, I have cards to show, so here we go.  I received Marja's and Shazzy's a while ago, but lost my camera when we had to evacuate, luckily it was returned to me, so now I'm able to post pics.

This first one is from Shaz, it's great, so creative.  Shaz used some lace as a stencil for the background pattern, and then did embroidery and sre flowers over it.  She embroidered my name in flashy gold!  Love it, Shazzy.

 

Next is from Marja.  It's so pretty, and my favourite colours.  I love the way Marja has used a stitched and beaded grid as a background for a soft, gentle felt and organza flower.  Nice contrasts Marja...thankyou.

Here's Shelley's, which came today, with Algecira's.

Shelley's is a needlefelted background....one of my favourite mediums...embellished with sari silk waste... I think..some beads and organza shiny bits. It's really nice thanks Shelley, I like the way it feels, that contrast in textures.  Did you do the background by hand, or do you have an embellisher?

And this beauty is from Algerica.....whose ribbon embroidery is exquisite..the beautifully made sunflower surrounded by french knots in ribbon, and a wonderfully beaded centre is just lovely.  The contrasts are there too, silky soft ribbon on a hessian background.  Thankyou Algecira, I love it.

I love all the cards sent for my birthday month, each one so creative, so different, and beautiful work from your hands....thankyou.

Hi Nanette,  yes the background is done on an embellisher.  I have had it for about a year and not really got around to using it, so this was part of a larger piece that I made and then I just embellished it on top.  So glad you like it.
