Isn't this just so fun! Hardly a day goes by that I don't whip up another one to add to my pile! Yes, Nanette, I did print out the happy birthday patch with my printer. I can tell you how to do it if you need help. There is a link on youtube by crafty gemini that shows you how to use freezer paper and print whatever you want on fabric. Everyone has done such a great job on the cards...they are just too beautiful for words! Love waking up and checking to see what new cards have been shared.

You can relax now Helen, and stop fidgeting, your card was waiting for me when I cam home last night, after a big day out. Thankyou, it's really pretty, and purples/pinks are my favourite colours, it was interesting too to see the beautiful vineyards near where you live, country a little like where I live. We have no vineyards, but sugar cane and bananas and lots of farming.
Two other cards arrived as well....thankyou to Kim, I really like your choice of colours, it looks sepia and old fashioned, lovely. Did you print out the "happy birthday" patch you've attached?
..and MaryLou, as usual beautiful handwork, and so much detail to look at......thankyou. Mary Lou's card is the middle one.
Helen's card
Thanks to all of you, it made my day to come home to a mailbox full of lovely art, and I'm looking forward to the rest arriving.

Permalink Reply by Tahlia on January 13, 2012 at 17:14 Kim, are you treating the fabric first, with (for example) Bubble Jet Set or some such product? For that matter, are you using an inkjet or a laser printer? ..or are you just printing directly onto the cloth because it isn't ever going to go through the wash? (Does that even work?)

Permalink Reply by Tahlia on January 13, 2012 at 17:16 PLEASE don't worry about the timing, Marja! I know I was in your thoughts, and that's enough. The card will arrive when it arrives, and it will prolong my birthday celebration by that much longer! ;)

Permalink Reply by Sharon on January 13, 2012 at 21:20 Our first 2 Birthdays have now been celebrated in Style, congratulations to everyone...Nanette and Tahlia have still got a couple of cards to arrive which will spread the joy a little further. It is difficult to judge the international mail systems & Life, Jobs and our Families do have to come 1st sometimes.... Next up is Liz in Kansas on the 12th of february......
I was wondering does anyone have any different ways of finishing the edges of their cards....I noticed most have been done with zig zag with the machine and lovely thread....that makes a great frame I think and is quick and neat. any other ideas.....
I did Tahlia's with a folded border... I will have a go at putting up a few pics on my blog
If you have a blog make sure you have a link to it on your member page so we can all go check them out....
I hope my card doesn't take too long to get there Nanette....bye Sharon xx
I'm always interested in how to finish too Shaz.....I sometimes use stitches on my machine or hand stitch blanket stitch...........I'm not always happy with my zig zag stitch........sometimes it looks so untidy......another way is to couch thin ribbon or cord around the edge so it "sits" on the edge.
This is my favorite way to finish edges on postcards. I use Wonder Under instead of Timtex as she did. http://needledmom.blogspot.com/2008/04/fabric-postcard-tutorial.html
