Ive missed the bus, hopefully someone will send me a message of anyone wanting to do a swap with me or can direct me to a little swap group just starting up?

Faith, If you sign up to be a member of the fabric postcard group you should get an email notice when something is posted and you  can start participating.  I will be glad to do a personal swap with you Faith.  I will go in and friend you and you can tell me if this is ok with you.  No problem either way.  In about 2 weeks they will start discussing the June swap and you can join them for that month.  The b'day swap is a swap for all year with certain members and it closes at the end of Dec. every year for the following year.   kim

Eileen and Linda, your cards are on their way... hope they reach you safely, in time.

Hi Teresa, I'm very red-faced....I've been jaunting happily around the countryside, went to Sydney... to TAFTA workshops in the Blue Mtns....to Adelaide, to Kangaroo Island, a few days in the 'outback at Broken Hill' a bit of fun and shopping in Sydney and home yesterday..........to find your card sitting very forlonly on the kitchen table.  I forgot to post it before I left, but I'm happy to say it's on it's way to you now.  All your cards are beautiful, lovely creative work everyone.

Hi Nanette,
Wow, it sounds like you had a great time jaunting around. I bet the TAFTA workshops were fabulous and in the Blue Mountains to boot.....what a bonus. We went to Broken Hill a couple of years back and stayed in an underground motel somewhere near by. I loved BH and will go back there at some stage. Weren't the cards great.....we've got a very talented group, haven't we. I'll look forward to receiving your card, stretch the birthday out a bit longer !! Cheers & thanks for the note....

I'm so glad you like the postcard! It was made from a bunch of scraps that I had previously deemed "TOO small for use". Boy was I wrong! They worked out pretty wonderful for the postcard, and could have just as easily been a doll's quilt. Now I have a revised definition of "too small"! Heh!

I apologize for being so quiet lately- my family has been in a bit of a tizzy since just after Easter when my one remaining grandmother (aged 98) fell and broke her hip. She was able to get surgery and a repair, but then took a bout with pneumonia and now is beginning to recover from that as well. We hope to have her with us for a good time longer, but when you're 98, every new day is its own blessing!

This 1st one is from Tahlia....my camera wouldn't capture these delightful colours properly, but I think I've won the battle...thank you Tahlia....

Hi Tahlia,
Thanks for your note. I do wish your grandmother all the best for her recovery, 98 is a fair age to be undergoing surgery, kind thoughts to her and to your family. When I got your postcard, it was in an envelope from the US postal services apologizing for "any damage to the enclosed article". I was a bit concerned with that, but I had a good close look and it didn't appear to have any damage to it, so I'm not sure what that was all about. Anyway it turned out great and it's a great example of saving those scraps!! Cheers Teresa

This is my beautiful card from Nanette.....(thank you)  that face is mine....I'm really a Goddess...hehehe. Nanette, how do you get your satin stitch edges so neat given you've used metallic thread. I have a very rocky relationship with metallic thread....I try to be nice, but it knows its the boss and does what it likes...my husband says it's like a menopausal woman...goes along nicely for a while then has a mood swing and snaps for no reason !! hmm...

Of course it's you Terese, you Goddess you! I'm glad you liked it.  Thanks for saying nice things about my edges, my sewing machine has been misbehaving badly, chewing and snarling....and it's about to be replaced.... I wasn't sure I'd get all the way around, I didn't think it was very neat at all.  I think a looser tension's the thing with metallic thread, I use a wider stitch and  go around twice, so I'm not expecting it to look perfect on the first run....plus the thread knows I'm the boss in my house! I like your hubby's description....is he speaking from experience about any particular menopausal woman? :)

I think he might be Nanette, but that was before I became a Goddess !! I'm sure he likes the transformation and secretly thinks it was worth it !! hehehe Nanette G said:
